2010 Spring Fun Show

Print

The Spring UMFTA Fun Show was a triple hit! Great weather, great friendship, and of course great horses. This fun and low-stress event is a perfect way to build confidence (for both horse and rider), have some laughs, and try something new. New this year was a "Trail Trials" class where the horses had to push a ball, cross a bridge, back through poles, and stand quietly while their rider retrieved a blanket. The class was so well received we'll definitely incorporate it into the Fall Show! Send your obstacle ideas to Alyssa anytime.

Envision Your Way to a Great Ride

Print

It’s a beautiful spring day, birds are chirping and the sun is warmer than it’s felt in months. You’re out for a ride on your favorite Foxtrotter and nothing could be better. You move down the trail at a brisk flatfoot walk, your horse in perfect stride and a joy to ride.

As you round a bend in the trail, you see a scattering of deadfall littering the trail. Mother Nature and strong spring winds have cleaned up the old trees and created a natural obstacle course for you and your horse. You think to yourself (and maybe even say out loud), “Don’t trip. Don’t break stride. Don’t trip.”
