Terry and her husband David currently own two Missouri Foxtrotters - A Dark Knight (six year old black gelding) and Knight's half sister Dutch (coming five year old mare), both of whom she purchased from UMFTA member Stacy Bowman of Pleasant Plains, Illinois.

In August 2007 Terry and Knight went to the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming with her friend Kathy O'Neil and her 21 year old grey quarter horse to ride in the 130 mile Outlaw Trail Ride which they finished.  When interviewed about her experience on the Bighorn trails Terry had the following answers:

How was the ride coordinated?

I rode with Wyoming High Country Trail Riders, great group, would highly recommend their rides.  The group is appointed a spot in the National Forest to camp, the food is brought in from a lodge that was a few miles down the road, hay cubes are furnished for the horses, and nightly entertainment, courtesy of the generator!  It was spectacular scenery and the wildlife viewing is awesome.  We took our own camping supplies and portable fencing.

Did you ride from camp to camp or was it a "stationary" ride?

We had the same campsite each night, and rode out from camp around 15 or so miles a day.  There was not a lot of climbing for the horses, as we were camped out at an elevation of 9000 or so feet.  Knight was six years old during last year's ride and did great.  Kathy's horse was 21 years old and hadn't been ridden much in the least 4 years, but we were able to whip her back into shape, she did wonderful.

Will you do this ride again?

We will definitely ride with the Wyoming High Country Trail Riders again.  And Dutchess will definitely see the wonderful state of Wyoming some day too!
