The Spring UMFTA Fun Show was a triple hit! Great weather, great friendship, and of course great horses. This fun and low-stress event is a perfect way to build confidence (for both horse and rider), have some laughs, and try something new. New this year was a "Trail Trials" class where the horses had to push a ball, cross a bridge, back through poles, and stand quietly while their rider retrieved a blanket. The class was so well received we'll definitely incorporate it into the Fall Show! Send your obstacle ideas to Alyssa anytime.

Special thanks to the people who made the special day possible... Gene and Debbie Gengelbach, our judge and judge's assistant whose expertise and encouragement are absolutely unmatched... Les Vance, our fabulous volunteer photographer whose new digital camera got a work-out and captured some outstanding moments... and Dr. Howard Ketover, whose co-sponsorship of the event helped fund ribbons.

We were pleased to welcome non-UMFTA members to the Fun Show this time -- their horses were respectful and willing and their riders were just as much fun! Opening the show to others also helps ensure we recoup show expenses. Popular opinion is that variety is the spice of life, so the Fall Fun Show (and future shows) will be advertised as "Open" shows.
